Niamh Cassidy grew up in East Anglia, raised Catholic by Irish parents – her mother a cleaner and her father unable to work. She went on to read English Literature at Oxford University, graduating in 2013, and moved to London. She worked for over a decade in the tech industry as a content strategist, before moving to Norwich in 2021 to pursue a career as a writer; she is currently studying for an MA in Creative Non-Fiction at UEA.

Niamh's work has been featured in Bread Alone: What happens when we run out of working class writers? She shares close readings and reviews on Substack and is at work on her first book-length project. My Father's Body is a memoir about growing up with a disabled parent. It charts her childhood growing up in the shadow of her father's decline, as one body — his — comes to define both their lives. The book explores the anatomy of family, care, and the challenge of living with someone else's wounds.
